thats funny. have i gotten someone worked up now? if u can't keep a calm head durings such discussions n start typing in caps, then dun post your beloved whoever here for people to dissect and criticise la. Laughing

oh i hate Lord of the Rings too. I think thats crap as well.

Modern music makers? I give my nod to John Williams. The day ARR is asked to do music for star wars, then i'll say he's good.

HENG is yr opinion bigger than the opinions of Recording companies, Sony who booked ARR to do Vande Mataram 1997 and LOTR producers Kevin Wallace?......DO not forget that these are companies which approve or disapprove artistes...they are more versed in opinions than you

I predict the director of the companies is old and have hearing difficulties.........

LOTR is just as big as Star Wars and ARR is almost the same league as John Williams in his music......Why ARR? might as well ask John Williams to do LOTR

Mr Fugue SG

correction: ARR is in the league of boybands. Laughing

do i have to peg my opinion blindly to the opinions of faceless recording companies whose only goal is to make money, not good music? please, u just blindly follow their opinion, u have a brain, use it. Besides, who is Kevin Wallace compared to Geroge Lucas anyway? Like i said, they day ARR is booked to do Star Wars, i'll say he's good.

Mr Fugue SG

it's the jupiter one.

only jupiter music fits your description of ''grand''.

does the beginning......

..........has rhythmic tapping sounds?

.........or ''messy'' syncopation by many violin parts?

Words of Andew Loyd Webber

After a couple of days, the music of one in every five
Bollywood songs was hitting not just me buy anyone who
heard the stuff. There had to be a common denominator.
This was their composer, A R Rahman. One look on the
net revealed that he was a phenomenon in Asia, where
he's known as the Asian Mozart. Rahman was born in
1966. His father was Hindi and a musician. Rahman
himself converted to Islam as a result of a family
tragedy. That is when he took his name. His scores
have been composed for some of India's most successful
films including Dil Se and Lagaan, which was nominated
for Best Foreign Film in the 2002 Oscars. With album
sales of over 100 million, his albums have sold more
than Britney Spears and Madonna combined. Soon my
house was full of them. His awards in his homeland
would cause the strongest mantelpiece to groan.

LOTR as big as star wars? wait long long. LOTR movies were still sucking tits when Star Wars movies were out pioneering special effects and laying the ground work for all special effects today. Sorry ARR can't even reach John Williams, much less Bach.

heres a tip. why don't u stop being narrow minded and accept that ARR's music is not the last word in music, and that not everyone has to like his music, and that those who don't like his music aren't "people who know nothing about music"? u're accusing others of being narrow minded when u're being the most narrow minded person of all here. Noted composer A.R. Rahman will score the music for the play The Lord of the Rings based on J.R. Tolkiens famous novel by the same name. The theatrical London launch of The Lord of the Rings comes as Hollywood builds the authors work into its biggest box-office hit series.

A scene from the film The Lord of the Rings.
Kevin Wallace is producing the 8-million ($13.8 million) prestigious project of Rahman, meant to be Londons most expensive production ever staged in the citys theatrical heart, the West End. While announcing the venture in London in October, Wallace said Rahman was needed to write unique music, with an exotic quality and brilliant melodies. The show will be taken around the world as a multicultural global stage performance. Rahman, affectionately known among the British as the Mozart of Madras, is to collaborate with Finish folk group Varttina for The Lord of the Rings. Rahman had also scored the music for Andrew Lloyd-Webbers successful Hindi film-inspired London play Bombay Dreams. According to theater critics Rahman was an inspired choice to compose the music for Tolkiens nearly 50-year-old epic story as Rahman is known to Wallace, who has produced several Lloyd-Webber musicals.

all i can say again for your own benefit is:

mars http://www.aquarianage.org/lore/files/mars.mid

which one??

Rahmania SG

HENG please comment on why Wallace wants to waste 13 Million on ARR if he's lousy...

Rahmania SG

sounds very phony to me....Dont tell me u listen to this crap?
It sounds like music from Sonic and Mario!

[email protected] SG

he wasted money on making LOTR also. maybe u can't understand the simple concept that making something that sells and something that is magical n timeless are 2 different things. 50 years down the road u see how many people remember Bach and how many remember ARR. Laughing

[email protected] SG

thats a midi file. not the real thing. but then given the fact that u seem to have problem grasping certain simple concepts, im not surprised u got it wrong, AGAIN. Laughing

Mr Fugue SG

I dun want to upload MP3 and going to the jail like you mahz. Laughing

[email protected] SG

can't hear it because uni's PC labs dun have sound. but i checked it out online and i believe its the Mars Suite.
