Devil1976 SG Laptop has been OVERLOADED with TOO MANY new applications lately!! Realise that some of them actually JAM UP its LOAD UP… But how do we make it such that those applications don’t load up upon the laptop start up…??
alexkusu SG ironic. I though windows was made for hell.. Start> Run> Msconfig > Services> Startup> Ok> Exit Without Restart
Devil1976 SG There were times when even have problem with booting up and hence the option for 'safe mode' didn't came up?
The man who was death SG dun need so ma huan, click on start and then run and then type msconfig and press enter can liao
kaobeikaobu SG ok, as mentioned.. go click 'start' button at bottom left. select 'run' type msconfig in 'open' field go to 'services' tab and disable unnecessary services e.g. smart card, help and support....etc go to 'startup' tab and disable unnecessary services e.g. messenger lah etc... if too troublesome, think upgrade ram...
BillyBong SG wha lau....1976.... Try removing all desktop functions you don't use. Clear the desktop bar of all icons, minimise default icons on the right hand side. Delete all unused and unnecessary shortcuts on the screen. Go to BIOS advanced menu and optimise settings. Startup should be faster next time round.
ITS SG You can try using WinPatrol to monitor your pc. The program uses a simple yet effective method of fighting all kinds of malicious programs. It inspects several spots in the Windows system where malware is most likely to alter, including programs launched at start-up, browser helper objects, scheduled tasks, services, and cookies. WinPatrol consumes few resources and doesn't slow your PC. Nevertheless, you can get rid of the software once you've cleared your pc off those unwanted start up programs. Here is where you can download the software. WinPatrol 9.7.4
ndmmxiaomayi SG Think you kena spyware or virus or both. Do a scan for these. If nothing, then I think your computer needs a reformat. One more thing: Fake Windows XP cannot be updated. Please make sure you get the real one.
