a 5.5 litre V8
but they mod it and make it 626 bhp instead of 476 bhp in the SL 55 AMG

not forgetting tt the SLR is made entirely out of carbon fibre... n it is supercharged...

SL55 AMG is supercharged also. The monoque is made out of carbon fibre but the car ends up pretty heavy. The key is the way they tweaked that engine, so that it has big horsepower and MONSTER torque. Mr. Green

Heh cool indeed. So cool that after some testing on the Top Gear tracks, the brakes actually caught fire! Very Happy no sh17! It was burning haha!! No offence guys, but my opinion about the slr is rather leaning towards the negative side.. It is a respectable car though, but I would say that more could be expected out of those two Maestros.

I would very much prefer a Carrera GT anytime though =)
