I never say they cannot.
what I meant was if you look at the big picture why some pple
converted, clearly the Christian theology appeals more to them. I'm
not making a judgement here, whether their old religion is indeed
inferior to their new one. But one thing is clear - they do not
understand enuff abt their old one. That was what I meant by "if
you just bai bai and dun immerse yourself in dharma, sangha and 3
treasures, how rational can it be".
This is why, according to the report I quoted, Taoists and
Buddhists organizations are trying to raise the awareness of their
religion. For Buddhists, they're not going to rationalize the
purpose of bai bai, instead they introduce you to the Dharma.
