Honeybunz SG

Got a big Tang Dynasty (closed down one) for them. Also got studio for filming at Tuas (which they decided to shut down). Have one lah. Last time HK always made theirs entirely in HK. They have more high rise buildings and aeroplanes than Sg.

Honeybunz SG

Copying is not a bad thing. TVB sometimes copy USA’s one but can still make into very nice dramas. It’s the production and the the artistes lor.

JennTS SG

its stupid. if she lost her memory and only recalls what happened like 30+ years ago, wouldn’t that mean she would remember her ex-husband as 30+ years younger?

Gordonator SG

exactly. that's why don't waste 1 hour of your life every night watching this crap. Laughing

sbst275 SG

I prefer the repeat of those old movies

The more I watch the show, the more tulan I get with Mediacorp. Why are all the characters so f#$*ed up? Mediacorp story-writers seem to be only capable of coming up with f%^#ed up stereotypical characters, or if the show is sponsored by some charity, then you’ll get characters who get all sorts of illnesses and diseases. It’s really depressing and irritating to watch such shows. Can’t Mediacorp show some authenticity and come up with original shows and original characters that are realistic and engaging? If it can’t then perhaps we can consider outsourcing our entertainment industry to foreign players instead.

vIn.Warrior SG

perhaps you join Mediacorp and be a scriptwriter? since you've all the wonderful ideas. Laughing

Honeybunz SG

I read from somewhere which says that it is cheaper to purchase tv programmes from overseas than to produce one here .

Why can't mediacorp do what they used to do decades ago? Just buy TV series from HK, can liao.

Prince Cumming SG

Agreed... actually alot of TVB big productions are derived from Jap, Korean & even Hollywood shows. What's impt they add some fresh perspective & make a good job out of it

Truimph in the sky was kinda of copied frm Jap "Good Luck" ... & i think both are great dramas in their own way..

i'm watchin " Revolving Doors of Vengeance" nw... its hotel-based theme is again like korean "Hotlier" but RDOV is every bit as good with all that intriguing sub-plots & unexpected twist...

If u watch TVB shows & then watch Mediacorp productions on tv, it's so damm disappointin...

Honeybunz SG

Harnor.

Even Korean dramas are catching up real fast.

I watched Da Chang Jin and confirm the fact that all our local Ah Ge Ah Jie cannot fight with the Korean's one.

Prince Cumming SG

Tong Xin Yuan is rely bad... & it's not the artists' fault this time. When i 1st saw the trailers before the show was aired, i actually felt quite optimistic... the cast is quite good, Lee Si Qi is a great veteran, Xiang yun, Yvonne lim & Apple Hong are all competent actress...

i think it's rely the producer/director/scriptwriter failings this time...

sbst275 SG

Well, I will only watch when it is towards the end

Anyway, MediaCorp's drama should go back to SBC

Steph84 SG

i tink the story is moving on too slowly lah.. my patience running thin liao lor... -.-

anyway is it that baozhu look fatter huh Twisted Evil

Mr Fugue SG

that show is too noisy liaoz, all the time there're people shouting/quarreling, I eat my dinner also cannot eat in peace.........

so I switched off the TV. Mr. Green

meltz SG

part two speed is faster nw ….... not like part 1 drag here and there …

ronin47 SG

Still the same more or less, a bit draggy and 'overly drama' in some part of the story - basically most of the time the 'nice guys' suffers, & probably the last few espisodes the 'evil guys' would have a quick terrible ending that's all.

The most boring - repeating! esp. in hospital scenes - Imagine most of the "nice guys" went to hospitals due to coma, injury or illness...

1st mother(coma) then Da yang(injured & illness) , Da di (injured)... then the father Shitou (injured/ coma), Da Hai (illness)... Neutral (bored)

Honeybunz SG

Ya lor.

SBC, although that time they got little experience in producing own dramas, they dared to try new things. Wu Shuo Nan Yang is one good example.

And then next was the first period drama featuring both China and Singapore during the Ching Dynasty. The actress Chen Mingli (already retired from entertainment scene, now a full time insurance agent) acted as Chen Shu Cheng's love interest. And Chen Shu Cheng was actually an enunch from the palace. Though Singapore lack places to film such drama, they made full use of Shuang Lin Temple and Chinese Garden.

sbst275 SG

SBC had all sorts of drama, coffeeshop, Samsui Woman, or Zao An Lau Shi Laughing

FrustMom SG

Most people don’t watch local production these days. The trend has moved to SCV.

choco B SG

I think they lack good scriptwriters. Good show starts with a good story.
