Trend Micro PC Cillin bao ga liao loh, spyware detector/remover, firewall, antivirus, etc etc. AVG is only antivirus nia. If you want free softwares for everything, try Sygate for the firewall, spyware detector go for Spybot. Right now I’m still using Sygate’s free firewall, compared to Trend Micro’s firewall it’s more user friendly.

SilverPal SG

I use kerio firewall (free, with intrusion detection), spybot and spysweeper (both free too), norton (my dad bought without asking his cheapskate son).

I'm a kiasu user... So many programs to protect... It'll be really embarrassing when my comp gets hacked into... Embarassed

alexkusu SG

i dont use any firewall...

me have adsl router.. HACK ME! HACK ME!!

jus have scanner...for stuff i dl frm p2p Mr. Green

TehJarVu SG

xp has firewall wat. you all not using xp or it is not good enough?

chanff8 SG

xp firewall is just… lousy… inflexible and isn’t effective at all. dun trust microsoft security products. go for third party programs

TehJarVu SG

can have so many firewalls at the same time ah?

alexkusu SG

can... why kenot?

especially for dial up users....

chanff8 SG

u haf to disable the windows firewall when u install the third party firewall. there will be conflicts if 2 firewalls are running at once. trust me, once u haf a third party firewall, the Windows Firewall will be useless

kaobeikaobu SG

oic…

TehJarVu SG

ok.. i see..

kaobeikaobu SG

then can i install two antiviruses without conflicts? can i install a proxy server as well?

alexkusu SG

can install as many antivirus as u want…firewall best install at most 2.

kaobeikaobu SG

really? as many as i can?
i was actually thinking of putting 3 firewalls...

alexkusu SG

u put 3 firewalls, later ur firewall shut all connections to internet then how?

last time me used 4 antivirus and 1 firewall cos leave my comp on 24-7. The i installed Sygate....whole comp shut down

kaobeikaobu SG

really? even when there's power supply? then i shld buy more UPS....then wun shutdown liao rite?

chanff8 SG

i only installed a firewall and anti-virus on my computer. multi anti-virus and firewalls will get u nowhere, unless u haf one as hardware firewall and another as software. the reason why yr com shut down might be because all yr anti-virus softwares are draining yr RAM

it does not haf anything to do wif power supply. its his computer...

TehJarVu SG

when i installed AVG, i was adviced to uninstall my expired Norton.

sure conflict one, so many for what?

kaobeikaobu SG

really? i thought run out of ram the comp wld just hang or reboot..n nt shut down?
i only have one antivirus...

chanff8 SG

it depends on the nature of its shutting down, whether its the standard process of shutting down by showing u the logging off, saving settings and shutting down screens or simply poof, whole thing off

Xcert SG

my current system is just with Avast antivirus.
Not system-critical so OK lar... Laughing Mr. Green
