Higher my ass. Laughing The basic pay is low, its the travelling allowances that push it up. If I'm not wrong, the basic don't go beyond 1.5K. The allowances are allocated according to the places you fly to. Say for example, europe, you get big allowances, but you won't be flying there more than once a month. So you can dream on. Laughing

One more thing, you don't need a degree to say please, thank you, nor pour tea. Laughing There's a reason why the minimal qualifications start quite low. Having a degree don't entitle you to a degree pay all the time.

no need degree, diploma enough.

need to be above 1.65m in height.

wear specs can, but not too deep... meaning not too thick...

pay + allowance around S$3500

if you hardworking, and in there for 10 years on... u can fetch a dam high pay cheque. My fren's hubby in there serve the first class pessengers... which the low level stewards will oni see that after 10 years...

First class, got people like "owner" of singapore... and "owners" of other countries.

hrmm stewards are sissy meh? no lah i dun think so... i dun airline will recruit sissy guys to be their flight steward... all i see quite normal and man one loh.

yes 3.5 k ard there...

depends on places u fly too... the further u fly ... the more often u fly... the longer ur duration of ur stay overseas... will affect ur flying allowance.

u need to go for 4 mths training... during training... the pay is super low i heard... mite not even hit 1k.

guys with specs i think u need to put on contacts.

the recruitment for stewards is much lesser den the stewardess cos the ratio of male and female cabin crew is not the same on flights... more female of cos..

SIA have already increased their educational requirement to diploma and a level.. nothing below that.

I heard lots of uni grad sign for steward... competition mite just be fierce... the selection will also be strict.

However firstly i think should u ask urself if u are a service orientated person. Or u are just signing cos u can get to travel here and there "for free".

i'm a frequent flyter. minimum flying SIA once or twic a month.

my serious opinion:

if you are a guy, forget about being a steward. no future. unless you want to do it for 1-2 years when you are young.

lady: like FI said, it's a waitress in the air. nothing else. may be worse than ground waitress as they have to clean the toilent on the place Laughing

Chest sure Zg one. short life becasue of adjustment of timezone. easy to get old because of dry air on the place.

although you can travel around, you also travel to Pakistan, Bangladesh etc.

recently mi frequent airport quite a lot of times.. see all the stewardess b.r.e.a.s.t is b.r.e.a.s.t, waist is waist, butt is butt.. every curves must be shown.. ur figure has to be darn good Very Happy

i know a friend who is SIA stewardness.. she said the people who fly there normally will touch your Butt , Chest etc.... no racist comment intended.

I think they say stewards have no future cos.. just look around, how many middle-aged stewards are there in SIA? Being a steward is not a long-term career.. probably when you get older you'll get transferred to become a cabin crew trainer where
1) you'll be grounded
2) so you'll not get anymore travel allowances

but i think its still better than being a waiter or a fast-food outlet worker though.
