my father used to tell the “flowers” (ie. the feather-like
stuff) is an indication of good-quality century egg. Everytime he
open a century egg with the “feathers” , he would tell me the same
thing, and he would then cut the egg to show me how nice the colur
of the egg had develop and the ‘eggwhite” have a firm jelly
texture. He really enjoy those eggs.
