Hey, come on, give the kids a break will you? Just because we
let kids sing along and have fun doesn't mean that we're shielding
them from the realities of life.
Just because we give our children a happy childhood doesn't
necessarily mean that we're pampering and shielding the kids. I
grew up watching Sesame Street, and to this day, Cookie Monster is
my hero. Does that mean that I can't see the world for what it
truly is?
It's true that children see things in black and white. As they grow
older, though, they get to learn and experience the different
shades of grey that exist in the world around them. They can get to
see things for exactly what they are.
Until then, let's not stunt the innocence of our kids, ok?
