Parka SG Go to download.com, look for the spyware link. Download the most popular one. While at download.com, download a firewall too. That's the first line of defense.

icecloud SG get ad aware? but you must take note that some programs might not be able to work when their ad functions are removed...

Parka SG It's a software aggregator site. It also has Acrobat reader and Macromedia Flash player. Well, those wouldn't screw up your PC, would they?
icyprincess SG I am not saying all is going to screw up my PC. But just that some of those programs have some sort of virus or even spywares included in it...you dun really know that when you download it... i.c.y
icecloud SG Actually when you download any shareware, you are most likely going to download these ads too to keep them 'free'. Maybe you can choose the programs you really need? Format your comp to make sure it's really clean? Do note that you must be able to configure every single setting of your PC now and backup all the things before you format your comp...

Parka SG Just get these 3 software and you will be spyware free. (I'm free from them for a clean 6 months straight since my last format). 1. Spybot 2. Adware 3. Sygate Firewall Update your spyware definitions after you install them. Finally, don't install funny softwares.
icecloud SG Maybe you can ask your uni comp centre to help you format? hehe... not sure if they will really be fast in reponse.... but you got to make sure you dun install all the ads into your comp again... otherwise think you better dun format... Oh.. sometimes when you uninstall the programs which comes with the ads, they also get removed... not all the time though...
alexkusu SG get spysweeper by Webroot. U can either download it (with serial number) frm p2p programs, or download n pay to register it.
icyprincess SG oh no, they dun do the reformatting for us one, otherwise they will be even busier than how they are now. plus the office is only open 2 hours, for 2 days in a week I will reformat it when I have free time... i.c.y

angelicpenny SG hey i recently downloaded from microsoft website anti spyware program but its a trial version so there's an expiry date then u got to re download... u should try though. i feel its better than spybot
