Carparks to Avoid : Let's share!

Ocean Towers at Shenton Way..just before the bus stop..wah lau..that should be the hardest carpark lah...damn steep slope..literally i think 65 degrees gradient? then uses the insert cashcard thing..which is unaccessible by winding down the window..u need to get out..zzz..then u have the carpark lots..like a labyrinth...

another one will be the HDB hub at Toa Payoh...

hmm...Jurong Point is ok, be it the new or old wing. Like any other carparks, slow down and be aware of on-coming cars while turning corners on your way in or out.

Don't go to CHIJMES basement carpark. Its $9 per entry and when going out, the ramp is so steep and corner so tight, you will have absolutely no idea if a car is coming or not. Then when you reach the top of the ramp, it will deep down steep, which will scrap your front-bumper if you have low car. Pay $9 just to vandalise your bumper for what.

The few carparks i will try to avoid are,

1) Bukit Batok, dunno which area but I remember there's a mac and foodcourt beside. I went there once, and scratched my car. VERY narrow.

2) Liang Court, narrow and spiraling. Will be challenging for new drivers.

3) Opp Cineleisure, open air carpark. Definitely will avoid there. Unless you want birds to drop gold on your car.

My Review

1) Novena Square - I've checked it out personally. The carpark entrance & exit are actually ok, not as narrow as claimed.. I wouldn't classify it as difficult.

2) Bukit Batok - one multiple-storey carpark, which I believe is the same one mentioned by sOnic (I also dunno where, can't remember). That one is probably the narrowest that you can find in S'pore (your car will be only a few inches away from both sides of the wall, leaving you with almost no allowance for any margin of error). I remember that when I had my refresher back then, my instructor got me there to practise (very honourable of him to trust me with his car). He did tell me then, that if I could drive thru' the entrance & exit a couple of times, I could go any carparks safely. =)

Lucky Plaza, Pearl’s Centre, People’s Park (Mostly older buildings; parking lots are small and closer together.. lane v narrow also).. Quite dangerous cos longer sedans like cefiro, teana, mercs jutting out of the lots.. have to drive more to the middle to avoid them. I don’t know about anyone else but i personally don’t like The Cathay’s cp. Hougang Mall’s cp have a number of tight turns.. there’s one right aft you get into the cp. Rochor Centre… odd cp design.. pillars here and there.. and the way some of the lots are drawn to fit between the pillars. cine open air cp.. avoid if can. parked there for a few hrs and the car was full of droppings.

My Review:

Novena Square's carpark is ok. A little narrow, but not that narrow. Just have to spiral about between floors. So should be generally safe for most drivers.
