bismarck SG trying to back up all my files but alot of times when i tried to burn a cd, it tells me errors like Fixation errors then when i scrolled up for some, it tells me Power Calibration error . i;ve tried many times with the same disc but when i tried with more discs from the stack of blank cd-r it still couldnt work.i only managed to burn data 4 times during which i tried repeatedly using ard 10+ cd-r discs. some tries failed immediately, showing the errors mentioned abv yet some failed at the last minute, at 99% written. i dunno wat went wrong as i reinstalled or updated the plextor drivers and the nero write software. using imation cd-r 700MB plextor s88tu nero 5.5 using latest drivers for the software and cd writer... anyone got ext dvd-burner to lend ?
ditzy SG I would rule out the disc having write errors. So the problem lies between the software and cd-writer hardware. Possibly a mismatch. First time I see power calibration error, this is for certain hardware being unable to work properly with the software. The cause of discs not writing properly, are most likely buffer underruns. Nero burning rom is currently at v6.6.0.0.
bismarck SG i've used for it for years already but there's been a lull before this and the last time i used it..because now just dump mp3s into my muvo... but i updated my firmware etc and watever not..
bismarck SG now there's a new prob i have a blank cd-r disc inside and i am sure because windows ask me what to do with the blank cd-r but nero asks me to insert the medium to write to as there is no medium in the writer....
ditzy SG Correct mah, whether its blank or not, windows autoplay will detect the cd and ask you what to do, unless you switch autoplay of course. So far I only know nero would prompt you to insert a medium in 3 instances -because there is no medium inside the drive -because what you are burning exceeds the space offered by the medium -because there is a surface error on the medium and is unable to work properly
bismarck SG first part i understand, expected it to happen . but the first 2 reasons arent likely and i tried with so many disks still like this..
bismarck SG was comtemplating between buying a dvd-burner or cd burner because the prices look cheap. on the other hand..maybe i throw back to my mum's office and get new 1
weidev SG i also gt fixation problem leh... but no wat power calibration prob leh... but currently it went back to working fine... so i am nt complaining...
