bought 5 or 6 goldfishes. 3 died. heart ached everytime 1 did. i wanted to bury it because i felt animals are living things too.

bought a few more...1 or 2 died...remained 6

then bought 6 gouramis. 1 died with a suspicious injury

hmmm.. thought gouramis are very hardy fish..

in an old office of mine, no one bothered to change the water for about 5 years and they were still alive!

well, i was there for one of the years and the guys there said that it was uncleaned for the 4 years before..

worse, there were mosquitoes trying to breed in the tank and one of the idiots at work sprayed some Baygon in gap in the tank.. the mosquitoes died, the guppies ate the dead mosquitoes, and nothing happened...

i think the fish in the tank mutated along the way Laughing

anyhoooo... this saturday, how? Wink

i got a chiropractor's appointment at Forum at 12:15pm which will be all done by 12:35...

or is it too early?

I went to Sam Yick's yesterday and was told by the store assistant that I shouldn't put puffers and neontetras together... Neutral

And i finally got a smaller water plant to replace the one that died. Very Happy

heh heh .... we kinda found out the hard way last week .... don noticed the puffer was making sharp darting movements among the tetras & discovered the fella was taking nips at the tetra tails! Shocked

we suspect maybe he's a lil too hungry but the lady at sam's told me they occasionally become agressive but it pasts ...

in any case he's now in isolation lol Confused

Today my fish almost hopped out of the water. Looks like I should have a net above too. Confused They're getting so unsettled in the tank! I think next time I'll get fish that are less active.

Eeeeewwwww! I dread goldfish. They've got big bulgy eyes and sulk all day, and some species have funny bulbous heads that are no beauties in my perspective. And their tails, THEIR TAILS!! The previous goldfishes I had, their tails broke here and there as and when they liked it. And when they die, it's one big eeky corpse you have to fish out of the water. Ughhghghghgh.

my gouramis are going nuts too

1 of the golden gouramis loves to chase the rest ard the tank and snip at their tails esp

but they all seem to have grown bigger and more beautiful...
going to buy 5-10 more..

haha dunno dunno .... those small pesky snails have started spawning in the tank again so the puffer has been released from isolation to clear the vermin Laughing

there's also quite fast frowing algae on the tank walls, thinking of getting those teeny weent sucker fish to do the job .... see how see how.
