Stomper Chiang, who specifically times his commute to avoid ERP
gantries was still charged even though it was before 7 am.
The Stomper was driving along the CTE and passed the ERP gantry
before Braddell Rd at around 6.55 am with no deduction, but two
minutes later, he reached another gantry.
Even though it was before ERP operating hours, and the gantry
was not in operation, $1.00 was still deducted from his cash
card.
Chiang expressed his concerns on how well the ERP gantries are
monitored, as if it happens to even more people, it could be more
than just one dollar in question.
He later called the LTA about this, and says that they are now
investigating the matter.
The Stomper said:
"Firstly it's a bit questionable, how can you be sure that they
are deducting the right amount each time you go through the
ERP?
"The trouble you have to go through to get the money back is
ridiculous.
"Even if they just deduct 50 cents, the principle of it is still
not right."
