Axl SG hi... hope to share some tips on how to outwit those pesky parking attendants URA/HDB/CISCO...here's some findings... maybe u all can confirm... by the way, do you all buy season parking at your HDB if u're staying at one? i bought for abt 3 months... now never buy... so far not bad.... kanna once a month only.... 1. They don't operate when its raining. Maybe cause of TSR. I think b'cos the parking ticket will be wet and will tear. 2. They also don't operate during peak hours like 7am - 9am... 5pm to 7pm... have not kanna a ticket during this timing... maybe a lot of cars moving in and out of carpark, dangerous for them... 3. (Waiting for contributions)
Kaczynski SG Oh, just to add... Opinion : I think I saw people in SSC (Singapore Sports Council) attire trying to catch people w/o valid parking coupon b4 (or it seems so)... FACT: The location was @ YCK Sports Complex Car Park - Car Park Code Y5 under the Park and Ride Scheme FACT: They were peering over the windscreen of every single car they passed by.. Probable/Cannot Confirm/Remember : I can't really be sure but if I'm not wrong, they were holding on to those Summon machines the attendents were using... Anyone saw this as well?
LH83 SG They DON'T operate during peak hours? That's wrong... I should know... got a ticket at 6pm... and that's peak hours... peak hours got more cars... all the more reason for them to go 'huntung'...
Axl SG hmm.... maybe your parking attendants are ex-commandos... more garang.... adding to that point...i also noticed they seldom attack at about 2pm to 4pm... maybe b'cos of low volume of cars...
Circuit SG dun knoe if still wrks.. . tot now driving last time i riding... i always use those motorbike covers... then lock it using small locks... sure cannot open the no plate to see... must be tight... and no way to pull and tuck..... to see no plate... (unless y got keys) quite useful... they give up... the bikes beside mi ganna... idea --- maybe cars oso can..wahhahah
KamenRider SG in the earlier days i saw one kid issuing car summons in bicycle, think he was helping his mom who is an attandant. liddat also can.
pqr SG they do operate during peak hours. I saw them at 6 pm + and 8 pm + around area of commonwealth drive. It does not make sense to me if they do not work during those hours where they can issue more summons. I believe they got targets to hit every month also. So towards the end of the month, they will appear more often.
haowee SG they operate all the time i guess... bukit batok industrial area, they will come at between 5.30 to 6 nearly everyday... the thing is to get someone working for Premas to get their schedule and you will know when they will come...
Axl SG thanks for contribution... i also noticed this... they don't check at places where there are heavy traffic for e.g Blk 85, Bedok there... which is a popular makan place... maybe got lots of vehicles parking short time there... people who are riding can try this, i did b4 successfully before... cover your bike first... use the stand to hold down the cover and then push your bike a bit forward so that front and back wheel hold down the cover... the poor parking attendant tried in vain to lift the cover to check me.... while i was watching from upstairs.... laughing away... haha...
KingMariot SG These pple (parking attendants) are not thinking public servants (not like SAF, advocating the thinking soldier). For eg, if you sit in your car waiting for someone and you park in a lot to avoid obstructing traffic, they expect you to put coupons. If you do not park in the lot but stop your car somewhere else in the car park AND having your hazard lights on AND with no one in the car AND on top of that obstructing the whole kampung, they do not book you I ask the attendant and explained the logic and she told me that as long as you are in a lot you should display coupons and its ok to obstruct traffic in a carpark. So what is their primary role? As law enforcers to ensure that traffic inside the car park is in order or collect as much money as possible? I think the answer is obvious. So next time if you need to run some errands which takes less than 15 minutes, park your car anywhere in the car park but not in the lots. Just my tots.
DoggieHowser SG Had a meeting off Tanjong Pagar... thot downtown shd be free parking after 5 mah KNS!!
SIN_0 SG to all hopeful bros, the town councils which are in charge are now 'outsourcing' to parking contractors. they are now building gantry pts just like those entry pts at commercial centres. there's 1 going to be operational at the Pasir Ris car park near the fishing pond, using Cashcard in IU. so it's gonna be hard to get free parking in future.
mushigen SG NOT only can it be hard to park for free, it can also be a disadvantage for those parking The Toa Payoh central URA carpark utilises ERP-style of deduction. If you park 10mins you will still need to pay 50cents, as I have learned the hard way.
sv3n SG these guys are blood suckers!.. my fren kanna summon at 4.57am!!..at jalan kayu..wah kao.. see money they fly ar..wonder if they get commision..if not y so hardworking..
[email protected] SG well compared to what i've seen here, sg is quite relaxed already. The traffic wardens here DO operate on a commision. They are sharp and eagle-eyed, I've seen tons of cars being clamped. I've even seen them clamp a tlelephone repair truck which was there to do repair works. Being a repair truck of course it wouldn't have a valid parking permit for the local area, but did they care? Nooooooo.... and then when u get clamped, which usually comes with the ticket, it means u're S$1200 poorer.
