Hi to All,
I'm new to this site and was hoping to find out some information
or photos pertaining to Tanah Merah Gun Powder Magazine.
Apparently this place was built in the 19th century and partly
owned by Tan Seng Poh (of Seng Poh Road fame). This was supposed to
be located off Tanah Merah Kechil Road and has been mentioned in
passing in some articles and also old maps as recent as 1930s.
Was wondering why would a civilian part own a "Gun Powder
Magazine" if indeed it was an Ammo Dump. If it was, then was there
some Gun Battery nearby that has been forgotten by time or
demolished?
