Is there a way to change the default cd rom drive?

hmm ok,i have a normal cd rom drive and a cd writer drive.

Recently found that my normal cd rom drive is getting faulty.So is there anyway to make the 2nd cd writer drive to become the default drive the comp will prompt for when you need to install something?

You will have to open up the computer casing and change the master/slave settings. Or if you just want to change the drive letters, and you use Windows XP, you can right-click on “My Computer”, click on manage, and select your cd drives, and right click and select “Change drive letters/paths”. You will need to change one of them to a letter you are not using (Z for example) first, then you change the other drive to the drive letter you want. Er….. if don’t understand can ask again. LOL
