wat it talks bout?
human thinking?

DeadPoet SG

You mean the subject is not easy?

True, human are too complex i.e. the title of the forum 'The Shredded Brain'. Too many theories to study. Sad

Another problem is too many different perspectives to explain a single phenomenon. But at the same time they enrich our knowledge. Wink

However, I still find Psychology a very interesting subject. Very Happy

DeadPoet SG

Hope you don't mind, are you a Psychologist in Singapore or oversea?

How to become a Psychologist in Singapore? I am really keen to be one leh. Very Happy

wanted to take psycho minor but got too many people snatching it....end up i took ICT Minor instead....psycho in ntu quite bad, got 2 quizes in 1 subject....my ICT not even 1 quiz....heh. then must buy a $40+ textbook for use 4 dat subject, not the whole minor psy course....

i read the textbook, got a part is teach u how to remember things better. i tot psycho is teach human behaviour but the books seems to say how the brain works and stuff like dat...

nonetheless, psycho is interesting...dats wat i still believe.

ditzy SG

I practiced overseas, all I can say is its not that easy in Singapore. You have better luck outside. Very Happy

DeadPoet SG

Hee hee that will be Cognitive Psychology and maybe a bit of background info from the Biological Perspective. Very Happy

Memory is a very interesting subject. We can discuss it here next time.

monkeybusiness SG

are biology and psychology related?

DeadPoet SG

That was what our lecturers told us too. Sad

But I still want to give it a try. But first must wait for my exam results. Then must really do a lot of planning. Very Happy

By the way can tell me which area you are dealing with? Example family, child development or health? Mr. Green

DeadPoet SG

Yup, to a certain extent. The Biological Perspective is one of the various perspectives in Psychology that offer/attempt to explain human behaviours.

In Psychology, as far as I know, most of our behaviours are the result of complex interactions between these different perspectives. Seldom human behaviours are the result of a single cause.

I will post some interestings studies on this in the future. Very Happy

We can even debate if basic perception mechanism such as depth cues have to be learned or automatically mediated by the visual system. Mr. Green
