TAXI KNEW METER IS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN GRAB. HE FORCE THE
PASSENGER TO PAY THE HIGHER FARE 0
Hi, I booked a just JUSTGRAB this morning and had gotten a taxi
to work. Fixed Fare was $14. When the driver picked me up, I
noticed something peculiar when he switched on the meter with
booking fee, thinking this was SOP. I kept quiet.
When we arrived at the destination, the taxi meter was $18 +
$4.30 (Booking Fee). We didnt passed any ERP. He requested I paid
using the meter fare. To my shock, I still managed to calm my self
down and politely tell the driver that he had accepted a “JustGrab”
service where it is fixed fee, even his app had shown $14.
He then shouted at me “this is GrabTaxi, you pay by meter!” I
showed him the app again and offering to call grab to mediate, he
then hesitated and accepted the fare.
This is crazy. We now go back to the days where pax and driver
argue over fares beyond meter. Just for passengers awareness in
case taxi drivers try to beat the system.
