People with arranged marriages have to grow to love each other. Probably of the need to have a match in social classes that led to arranged marriages in the past, or as a way to have social mobility for some girls.

Actually, it is quite pragmatic. We can view it as a attempt to ensure the survival of best genes {espcially for the richer families} However, most arranged marriages esp among the upper strata then towards intermarriage…hence it defeats the purpose altogether.

Yah....that is why we fare better Mr. Green ... but really it does make some sense esp if you consider having the ability to create and retain wealth as a desirable trait, I think by breeding among richer families {if you do it carefully of course} there is a higher chance of maintaining a better gene pool. But again it can be all BS...just IMHO.
