What is your basic philosophy in Life?

last SG · 2007-07-20T14:26:01+00:00

That is pretty profound and is very useful. Unfortunately it is lacking and it does not answer the question, "What if other people do not play by this rule?"...

Do you even have one?

Do you think that it is important to have one?

How can you have one?

Is it too troublesome to develop one for yourself?

Is it too difficult to develop one for yourself?

Is yours based on Beliefs (subjective) or Reality (empirical)?

Empirical
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A central concept in science and the scientific method is that all evidence must be empirical, or empirically based, that is, dependent on evidence or consequences that are observable by the senses. Empirical data are data that are produced by experiment or observation.

Ferret SG

Do no harm.

Have fun.

Mr. Green

AndrewPKYap SG

No wonder ferretz rule.... hard to criticize "Do no harm and Have fun"

But what about ambitions and progressing and making a better life for yourself?

Devil1976 SG

Revenge of the thread.... Mr. Green "

I personally think it's not that AA's mod have less tolerance for things... Sometimes it's good to just follow the black and white... I've seen too much sh|t going around simply because the Mods were being too tolerant.... Some people just tends to take things for granted and climb over... Mr. Green

AndrewPKYap SG

You were THE AA Mod wat... wah liaoz, discuss philosophy of life so that some people might be helped and not keep on getting into sh!t situations because they have an inferior "technique" for living, no good meh?

AA cannot do preventions but only help people when they are in crisis meh?

Give a man a fish.... Rolling Eyes

Ferret SG

why would u wanna seek to criticize me ? Mr. Green

AndrewPKYap SG

Not you lah... that particular "philosophy" of yours... surely you can expand on it? Do no harm is excellent... but what if you were trying to protect someone or some people?

What if you were a policeman? Will you shoot the robber or will you say... "do no harm"?

What if you know that reporting someone to the police will get him into serious trouble? Will you still say, don't report him because my philosophy in life is "do no harm"?

Have fun is good but do you think that it is always possible? If your job is "no fun" do you then resign and look for a "fun" job? What if you cannot find a "fun" job?

Ferret SG

ok u wan expansion.

Do no harm...if possible.

have fun...when I can.

Weigh the consequences of your actions. and do the best you can.

Fun's there, you just hafta look. Mr. Green

boka SG

My philosophy in life is to help the less fortunate ppl who are victims of human trafficking, protituition and slavery.
I do not want to lead the life of a normal person like marrying, settling down and worrying about money because instead of doing all this, the strenght i have can be dedicatedto serve justice to those who needs a voice.

AndrewPKYap SG

with this kind of attitude, no wonder, I noticed, that you are very popular in sgforums... with threads dedicated to you even...

AndrewPKYap SG

but I must admit the search results surprised me.... Shocked

boka SG

I cannot force myself to live through life comfortably, flipping through the newspaper everyday and knowing there are so many million of innocent people being con into human slavery and prostituion and their lives destroyed because of criminal network while i live comfortably in this safe island.

It's a call from the bottom of my heart and i acknowledge that i can do something about this.
Lastly,my passion lies in eradicating evil doers.

boka SG

Yes,i acknowledge that ppl need help and instead of working for the ecnomy to fill the riches of the capitalist pirates, why not work for better humanity?

What is the point of a economically developed society when humanity is comprimised.

http://www.gvnet.com/humantrafficking/

http://www.unodc.org/unodc/en/trafficking_human_beings.html

Human trafficking is not the same as people smuggling. A smuggler will facilitate illegal entry into a country for a fee, but on arrival at their destination, the smuggled person is free; the trafficking victim is enslaved. Traffickers use coercive tactics including deception, fraud, intimidation, isolation, threat and use of physical force, debt bondage or even force-feeding with drugs to control their victims. Women are typically recruited with promises of good, legal jobs in other countries or provinces, or are tricked into a false 'marriage', and, lacking better options at home, agree to migrate. Traffickers arrange the travel and job placements, the women are escorted to their destinations and delivered to the employers. Upon reaching their destinations, some women learn that they have been deceived about the nature of the work they will do; most have been lied to about the financial arrangements and conditions of their employment; and all find themselves in coercive and abusive situations and kept in a financial situation that they are stuck in a form of debt bo
