Im using Phillips. So far no problems except that some of their Listed Company Data is outdated. Phillips isnt the cheapest in terms of broking charges. But they have a stable online trading platform. I think eq.com.sg is the cheapest. They give Linkpoint rebates also.

i hope someone can help me...I have an account with poems and interested to buy a particular share but intending to sell before the payment date...I guess this is a form of contra trading right but when i click on the "Contra" buttom, I can't use that function...I guess maybe my account cannot play contra...

If so, as a normal account..Can i buy the share first and sell it before the payment date??Since the transaction date is transaction date + 3??

You can only short sell on poems if your account is a contra account. Pls call your phillips broker for more details.

FOr contra trades, remember to click on the checkbox labeled "contra".

I think if you want a contra account, you must have a fixed income from your job...not very sure. My account was given to me by my mum....so Im not too sure. Ask your broker.

Generally, I do not advise short selling unless you own a stock which you intend to keep long term for investment purpose but know that it may drop for the short term.
