Lane closed on
Kampong Bahru Rd due to oil spill
SINGAPORE: An oil spill forced the closure of one lane on
Kampong Bahru Road during Tuesday evening (Feb 2) rush
hour.
A Land Transport Authority spokesperson said in a statement at
6.40pm that one lane for traffic in the direction of Jalan Bukit
Merah was closed for resurfacing.
"LTA will reopen the affected lanes when resurfacing works are
completed,” the spokesperson added.
On Monday, another oil spill saw two lanes of the Pan Island
Expressway sealed off, after an accident between a tipper truck and
an oil tanker. And on Friday, an oil tanker leaked palm oil on the
Bukit Timah Expressway for 10 hours, causing traffic gridlock in
the morning.
