Hi guys,
Can anyone explain to me why bigger rims will lead to
worse fuel consumption?
I'm thinking of upgrading from 17" to 18".
Thanks!
In layman terms, an increase in rim size also equates to an
increase in tyre width. Bigger contact patch, more rolling
resistance and hence higher fuel consumption.
By that same token, more friction also means better grip, which
is why you will feel an improvement in the handling of your
car.
