NTUC FairPrice
to extend outlets' operating hours during Chinese New
Year
SINGAPORE: NTUC FairPrice on Friday (Jan 29) announced it will
be extending the operating hours of its stores leading up to
Chinese New Year to "cater to demand for groceries and provide
greater convenience".
It said 25 FairPrice outlets will remain open throughout this
festive period, compared to 21 stores last year. Additionally, 92
stores will operate for 24 hours on Feb 6 - the day before Chinese
New Year Eve - to cater to shoppers buying necessities in
preparation for reunion dinner traditionally held on the eve, it
said in its press release.
From Jan 30 to Feb 5, all 24-hour stores and the Blk 612 Punggol
Drive outlet will operate round-the-clock, while 58 FairPrice
stores will be extending their opening hours till as late as
midnight, it said.
As for Chinese New Year eve, all stores - other than the 25
outlets - will close by 5pm, and remain closed for the first day of
the Chinese New Year, said NTUC Fairprice.
On the second day of the Chinese New Year (Feb 9), five stores -
6 Scotts Road, 302 Tiong Bahru Road, 10 Sinaran Drive, 2 Ang Mo Kio
Drive Blk A and 100 Tras Street - will remain closed while a total
of 127 stores will resume business. Normal operating hours will
resume on the third day, or Feb 10, it added.
Only the 302 Tiong Bahru Road store will remain closed on the
third day, as it will undergo renovation works from Feb 9, said
NTUC FairPrice.
As for online deliveries, they will continue operating until Feb
7, after which there will be no deliveries available on Feb 8 and
9, the first and second day of the Chinese New Year. Deliveries
