going oversea, get approval from HDB to rent out my flat?

Just bought a HDB from resale market, but now my wife is going australia to work, I want to rent out the flat for some cash so it support our life over there.

Can I get approval from HDB to rent my flat out?

What is the general requirement for getting that approval?

Any one here encounter similar thing before?

Hi Blackfifo, which part of d world r u heading. Well, just to share wif u my fren was in similar situation when she went to UAE. Apparently, HDB requires a lot of documentation, such as employment letter, residency status etc. She eventually got the approval to rent out d whole house but the renting out period will be excluded from the 5yr MOP.
