Australian income tax is $28,200 plus 47c for each $1 (that's
47%!) over $95,000. In addition, you have to pay medicare levy of
1.5%
New Zealand tax is actually quick low given the welfare you get
there. However, the pay is really poor, so I would consider living
there in retirement. That's why younger doctors move across to
Australia where the pay is better.
