i know of one workshop which does dat at around 6k but it is
subjected to LTA's approval ... u will need a permit to do so ..
and trust me the wait is about 6mths(the last time my friend did it
dunno now) and if i am not wrong you will need a lawyer to write in
to give supporting reason for the conversion ... and of course ..
for some cars, depands on what car u are driving, needs the whole
front to be changed to a Manual configuration and installation of
the clutch and changing the speedo and the drive train ... ya .. u
can say its a hole in ur pocket dude ... so please give a 2nd
thought on it .. 
I am driving an Auto tranny Sunny now ... i only drive that during
leisure or to work, when i am really in the rush i will take my
dad's GLi Manual to run for it ... but to me ... its still the same
.. except one is 1.5 and the other is 1.6 so abit the power
difference .. but other then that i still prefer auto ... at the
end of the day it boils down to wad u say ... personal preference
