If you've not yet watched "The Accountant" in Singapore cinemas,
go watch it before its run ends.
Not only is it easily the best movie of the year, but it
surprisingly actually has a rather intelligent plot and storyline
(which you'll have to piece together bit by bit for yourself as the
movie progresses, multiple flashbacks and all), which is a rarity
for Hollywood movies these days.
It is also a rare movie in that it successfully spans across
multiple genres and themes, from autism & intelligence, to
stock broking corporate fraud, to the accounting & finance
world, to violent mafia gangsters, to clandestine government
agencies, to martial arts & military special forces, to
emotionally straining family relationships, to whacky & witty
humour, to a romance love relationship.
And emotionally touching characters (even for minor-role,
back-end characters such as Marybeth Medina and Raymond "Ray" King)
you can empathize and sympathize with.
A pleasantly surprising, multi-faceted and thoroughly excellent
movie.
