on the Trump-Tsai phone call :
"Trump is cunningly making use of Taiwan as a pawn to insult,
test and deal with China."
Such is the distrustful, suspicious nature of international
politics. In truth, they give Trump far too much credit for
cunning. Trump is actually exceedingly simple minded, and he
doesn't give a damn about diplomatic protocols.
He accepted that call simply because he wanted to feel good
being congratulated by a president of another country, simply
because he wants to buddy up (chit-chat, praise them, bro-hug them)
with as many presidents and prime ministers as possible (in
business, better to have more networking contacts), and simply
because he wants to expand his/USA's businesses and maximize
his/USA's profits, via business deals with as many countries as
possible, including selling billions of dollars of military
hardware to Taiwan.
