Getting my family's one soon too.. Just wondering what you guys will advice to coat the new car with... to protect the paintwork and the shine?

u r referring to the Turanza GR-80 right? how does it compare with Michellin's XM1? also, what should be the tyre profile if change to 15" rim?

Am planning to upgrade my tyres to 15" or 16" immediately upon delivery.

Any suggestions where should can i get a good deal for this and what rims/tyres are the best to get.

haven't done it yet... but it shud be the next thing to do when i free up some money...

after seeing the Bangkok Altises, decided to get mudguards back and then i feel that the car's profile looks slightly better, and also for practical purposes...

Put it lighted scuffplates too... well some people think it's a waste of money, but i thought it looks pretty nice and cool at night..

Past experience with Michellin is pretty noisy. It's designed more for heavy continental cars. Jap cars are comparatively lighter in weight.
195R65 should suffice.

hi everyone, newbie here....jus booked my altis yest..due end july..so long....haha. anyway wad freebies or discounts did u guys get wif urs? managed to wrangle out an offer for vkool from the BM agent, she's offering us a choice of either vkool or huper optic for $200, seems rather good to me wad do u guys tink? but anyway just wanted to know wich one would be better, from the catalogues at the BM showroom seems huper is more ex compared to vkool (950 comapred to 850) but vkool is more established i guess. have also gotten some opinions from friends that huper is rather good, so just need some advice about wich one to choose, anyone have used both b4 or have some experience? dunno wich one would be a better choice.... cheers! thanks for the advice. there is a review in the latest AAS mag comparing the 2. it seems that the XM1 is quite good. it is also mentioned in the car buyer's guide.

my BM SE seemed to promote huper more for some reason. when i asked about vkool, he was rather quiet. perhaps he gets more commission from huper? Smile

Yupz…from wad i know they get more commission on huper, tt’s why the person pushed huper to me and even offered it at the same price she was willing to give me vkool for… sounded suspicious at first too til i consult4ed my fren haha

Sorry to sound so dumb....but what is a lighted scuffplate? and where does one get it from. also where did u get the mud gaurds from.

still confused on which tyre is better....bridgestone/michelin/yokohama?

FUEL Indicator:

Had pump full tank (estimate 50 litres) and drove until indicator show half tank. At Half mark the milege show already at 400km being travelled. And from Half to Empty. it's about 100++ Km.
Meaning at Half tank indication, you tank is somehwere at 1/4 !!!

Can someone pls verfiy this.

for the fuel indicator, it is pretty true that the indicator is not linear... quite useful for the 3/4-tank rule...hee hee as infact the fuel inside is really closer to 1/2-full.... Very Happy

Hi all Altis owners,
see if you could spot the two lines on your rear bumper? Stare hard at your bumpers from different angles and you will certainly discover these strange unexplained lines. I checked with the BM service officer but he was unsure why it is there. The SE was also astounded when I showed to him. All show room Altis also have this inherent 'defect'. Check it out.

i think it is common in all cars. i hv never been able to get 50 litres into my car...at most 45+. how many km do u still drive when the fuel indicator is on?

I drive till my indictor is really EMPTY then i go for re-fuel. Once the pump stops, manually pump in a little more. Should be able to get 50 litres or 49.+ . When my indicator reaches half i had driven about 400Km. Right now it's almost E and i have reach 530Km.
So on average it;s about 10.5 - 11 km per litre.

Hey guys....COE results are out. BM did a good job. Put my bid up and put a reserve price of $29,779...where as it closed at $28,798.

Spoke to the SE, am starting the insurance related procedures tomorrow...looking at delivery in about 2 weeks.....

Congrats..... wat price did u pay for ur Altis..... standard or deluxe...

so fast get ur car..... mine book in late Mar, got COE in mid Apr... still waiting for my car....

Thanks mate. The price was $74888....i think. It was $500 more than the current price. As i had booked a day before the last coe bidding closed and the next day BM dropped prices by $500.

The price is for Deluxe model. Getting delivery in under a month...but the trade off was that did not get any freebies.

Am planning to upgrade to 15" rims imemdiately upon delivery and then get a ThoughSeal coating done.

This particular SE still has some Champagne, silver and white Altis that can be delivered in under a month...subject to COE...

How shall I describe it?? The lines are on the upper border of the rear bumper perpendicular to the boot lid. You have to view it from the sides at varying height.
