Hi All,
Just return from a trip to KL.Went in with 2 cars and return with one.
On monday was having a good time @ the Theme park with the family when its time to return to the Hotel discovered that my cousins Honda Civic GL was stolen from the parking lot.Did a search for it maybe but to no avail.
And Berjaya Times Square is secured with CCTV cameras in the parking zone and a regular security patrol.
So if anyone intends to go to KL for the Holidays.Be careful of your car.Take the necessary precaution in installing good alarm system and also additional security locks.
Don't let it happen to you.

Me just came back from KL two days ago. Very satisfacted with my altis. I manage to cruise at 140km/h(rpm only 3400) for the journey.
Can reach 150km/h easily. Even at 140km/h, acceleration still quite responsive. The fastest i reached was 160 km(rpm at 3800) on the trip, but i feel that the car can go faster than that.

100% on highway drive, so my fuel consumption is about 14 km/litre.

my altis using denso iradium and k/n filter.

how old is your car? how much milage done.

also can u share some experience on how did u run-in the engine. am getting my altis in 2 weeks. so need help with how fast/slow to drive and what rpm..and for how long.

i wonder if the immobilizer will prevent any theft?

Now my mileage is 4850km.

Regard on run in, there many types so far i heard. But i follow according to the user manual. The user mainual stated that run in is during 2000km with no too long journey and no too high rpm. I practised not to drive above 3000rpm during 3000km.
Borneo Motor told me run in only need 1000km, but i think too little.

Good point....as Altis comes with a built-in immobilizer.....is it enuff? or should one look at installing some additional vehicle protection systems/alarms.

I heard the car thieves use tow truck!! In this case the built-in immobilizer would be rendered useless. All they need to do is jack up your car and tow off in just under 5 minutes!!

WOW...so how man?...put the wheel clamp on the car? Any suggestions?...even high end systems will fail agains this....

at least, with the immobiizer, it makes it more difficult to steal. i think u just hv to make sure the car is not parked in a remote place.

i recently discovered that my rear fog light is not working. the sw cannot turn on. anyone has this problem?

I think you may have misunderstood the operating function. Try reading your manual again. The rear fog lamp can only be turned on when your head light is on. Once you have switched off the head lamp or engine, the setting returns to its original off position. The switch has no catch. It is design such, quite similar to the OverDrive button. Smile Smile

hello frens, you are missing the point.
The thieves use tow truck lah. Immobilizer or alarm will not help. They are PROs and dun think they don't know how to disarm?? They have proven their ability beqond doubts ...BMs, Mercs ,,, etc.. what is Toyota to them... hah?? Peanuts!!
If you have to drive out of necessity, do be careful lah. Otherwise, use a "lau pok kai" to go Malaysia.

When u click on dealers link...it shows an error page. Wonder if BM carries all these accessories.

Using K/n air filter, I checked with BM before upgraded. They said it does not affact warrantly.
Denso Iradium spark plug, did it at BM.

i did try it with my head lights sw on but din see any difference when i pressed the button a few times. will re-check again.

Hi,
I don't own a toyota, but below is what was advised to reduce car theft, just to share

- park head in first
- turn your steering wheel all the way to one side
- used a steering wheel lock or any similar device to lock your steering wheel

This would prevent the towing truck car-theft method, ie. the truck needs to lift either the front or back wheels, and the turned front wheels will prevent them from the pull out, IF you only parked head in.
