Getting my family's one soon too.. Just wondering what you guys will advice to coat the new car with... to protect the paintwork and the shine?

That's good news for new buyers.... I thot the COE only drop abit only....how come BM drop immediately by $1k..... business no good???

But seriously, May04 is the lowest number of BM cars registered since Jan......Honda has the highest jump.....

altis owners, i haf a little question to ask.... i find the interior of the altis really appealing in terms of space.... but a bit worried dat could the body of the altis be a bit too heavy for the 1.6l engine since cars of the same capacity seems so much smaller then altis where the interior is concerned...

still remember haf tis fren who bought a 2nd hand mitsubishi lancer 1.3l but haf a body of 1.6l.... his car got a lot of probs an keep going into the workshop.... scared the same prob may happen to altis as well.....

any advise?

The body of the car can be matched with the power of the engine .. dun worry .. if that is the concern then might as well get the 1.8L version ..

Anyways recently .. Toyota have release the JDM corolla 2005 on the news paper which is going for 79,800 only!

Hello,

This is my first posting here. Just reached the 1000 km mark on my Altis, and noticed that my fuel consumption is much lower than what has been reported.

The first topping up worked out to 8.x km/litre, the 2nd was 9.5 km/litre and the 3rd is 10.3 km/litre. Most of the times I drive from city to ayer rajah in the morning and back in the evening. Is it me, the petrol or the car? (First 2 times I pumped SPC 98, switched to Shell 95 for the third time).

Please advice. Thanks!

Hi p4s,
The typical consumption for a new car during break-in is rather high. I have achieved only around 10km/l when it is new. It will gradually increase after 1000km. Poor fuel economy can also be due to the stop and go traffic in the jam.

For my experience, 98 octane fuel get consumed faster than 95.
Now my car is near to 10,000km and I'm getting 12.5 to 13km typical.

i think your worries are unfounded. basically your concern is the acceleration? if you check out those car reviews recently, you will find that generally altis has above average acceleration compared to its peers.
personally i find altis power sufficient on spore roads. but if i live in malayisa, i would get the 1.8l version. there are more slopes there .

hullo people... i booked my altis today! champagne gold cos of easy maintenance..... collection in aug/sep... Laughing

BM now having 1.9% interest rate for min $40k loan and u cun repay the full loan amt nor sell ur car for the 1st 2 years.... they did away with the wooden grain steering wheel for the deluxe package cos according to the SE, many people dun like dat.... mine's a basic package cos really dun like the plasticy woodgrain panels... will be keeping the existing and then change to leather seats myself from jackspeed.....

cun wait for my altis to be ready for collection..... Very Happy

As for joining the Toyota Club..think the club is too big as it includes ALL toyota vehicles...hence lack of focus on specific vehicles... Think it will be more fun if we have a "Altis" corner..
hence this forum..haha

hoping that somebody who's IT sauvy can go and set up an on-line Altis site for S'pore Altis drives...haha
