Ops..my mistake. There is AUTO-locking. And it quietly locks up upon driving. Think i’ll miss the Nissan loud snapping locks

... the Altis is the cheapest good car in the market! I got mine for $69K ++ too! Straight from the Borneo Motors showroom at Ubi Rd 4! I think quite a few people who bought at that time got the same deal as me ...

I booked the car in early Feb, and picked it up at the end of Mar. Anyone who bought it then got this great deal.

What is the correct way for the door auto lock to operate? Is there a correct procedure/steps to follow? When does the lock comes in? After I lower the handbrake or lift my foot off the brake pedal. Please help. Is there a problem in the auto lock system of my car.
My previous car a Sunny, the auto lock comes in when I disengage the handbrake. Thanks

All your doors muz be closed when u turn ur key at the ignition from off to on, then it will auto lock... otherwise if u leave any door open when u start the engine then this auto lock thing would not activate

Have u been to the taiwan altis club site...? been there and saw some pics... first thing that i would be changing from the pics i saw would definitely be the wheels... 14 gotta make way for 15... then would be the glowing scuff plate and then would be getting the gold grill and toyota insignia cuz my altis is the new grey one and guess it would go pretty nicely... i think... Razz

REVIEW 2

Don't like the sound of the audio speakers. Sounds too muffy and unclear. Had lower the bass but doesn't help much. Good thing is there's no radio antenna. No worries when entering car washing bay.

Was going at 130km/h at TPE. Can feel there's still room for acceleration. That i'll have to go for the NorthSouth Highway to find out. Wind noise is moderate. Like any Japanese car. Stability is still ok due to it's weight. one hand on steering is still manageable. But then as i said before, steering is mighty sensitive, so becareful.

One thing i notice that i usually park the car in the sun without shelter. And comparing to my previous Nissan, the Altis interior roof
is carpet like. And it's not as HOT.

The car booth door seems very light and thin. Must really swing down to close it.

Other gadgets like frontseat roof lights and more front compartment spaces are delights to the driver.

Book the COE @ 24,+++. Cat A. And it's Mica Metallic GREY. Very Happy

For the Auto-Lock question. You need to close all doors. Once you start the turn start the ignition key, doors will auto-lock. If any of your doors are unlock, the auto-locking system will not work.

What say you guys if we get together one of the days at an open car park, say at East Coast. It would be nice if we could do that. Can compare cars and discussed on Altis issues. Maybe even rope in Borneo Motors for an article issue.

you are very fortunate. i booked mine in mid-feb too but i din get the coe. coe is still rising, so i dunno whether i can get it eventually.
the auto-lock feature must be standard for all toyotas. i own a soluna at present and it behaves the same as u described.

COE booking depends on your Agent. Some Nasty ones might ask your to top up and chase the COE.

Is there any CAR AGENTor BM insider here to clear our doubts?
