extr0vert SG Hi to all brothers and sisters..... i always hear bad comments on continental cars.... saying its very ex, plus spare parts difficult to get... is it really so? is it really not worth it to get a continental car?
[email protected] SG no its worth it. they are simply... lovely! also remember the world's fastest production car is a continential car
bmw_lover SG lol i heard that japanese cars are very light as compared to continental cars… i also heard that in germany the expressways have different speed limits, one section could be 120kmph… another section could be 160kmph… lol…. i’m guessing because cars in europe have to withstand the long distance and harsh weather conditions, they are built more solid to cope with it…. just my thoughts though…
w2k_83 SG If u can afford to buy a conti car, u wun bother so much bout worth or not worth it cos conti cars are in a different class... Ride quality and comfort are so much better than Jap or Korean cars, u pay for that man
Theatre Of Dreams SG continental cars tend to have sweet sexy voluptuous looks and individualistic flavour, so u need time to get in touch with them.. japanese cars are more direct, straight to the eye. either u love it or u don't, haha...
Praetorian111 SG Yes.... it is more expensive to get spare parts as most shops in Singapore do not deal with continental cars..... most of the time you will need to import the parts and it will take some time and of course money..... as compare to jap cars ,continental is more expensive and lack of nice body shapes.....
[email protected] SG yeah, for eg, the renault megane. its quirky but i love it precisely for its french quirkiness
manualisbetter SG My dad used to own an R21 and many problems within the 1st 3 years... eventually a fatal one, the water is leaking from a crack in the engine cast... Don't ask me how this happens since the car was hardly used and yet this could happened... An ex-colleague of mine was also driving Megane and he had to send in his car for part replacement within the first 12 months... luckily under warranty else will costs a bomb. When questioning the mechanics, the reply was "you buy the car for safety purpose not for the durability"... Never will i buy a continental car again!
Aulf SG Generally for continental cars : Plus Better sound insulation Better ride & handling Safety Well & uniquely designed and classy Interiors Minus FC higher High maintenance cost Expensive spare parts Low Resale value "Leftovers" from conversion from left to right hand drive.
extr0vert SG hahaha thinking only lah... my current car only half yr old.... still very young.... thinking abt changing to non-saloon car.... hatch backs.... but definately not jazz.... sianz.... too ex for its class...... rather get a clio.... if budget, then get a colt.... hahhaa.... i am thinking too much leh.....
choppers SG my opel corsa not bad leh... i mean so far not bad..... minus pt to me is... signal on the left............... i always turn on wiper though...
donjng SG Continental cars- my choice! Smooth on the road too! Well, at the very least, you dun have to worry when you get into accidents as they are more solid than Jap or Korean cars...
