All districts would be contested......but Tanjong Pagar GRC
would be the toughest one for the other parties to win because
people there are happy. The property prices there are very
high and there are tons of people fighting to live there everytime
there is a HDB BTO exercise with high oversubscription ratios.
The 4-rm and 5-rm flat dwellers can cash out on their
existing flats in TP GRC, move to a non-mature estate and still
have half a million dollars of cash on hand. This seem to be
only applicable for people in TP GRC. Also transportation
cost for people there is low and food there does not seem more
expensive than in non-mature estate.
The changes in the bondary of Tanjong Pagar GRC and the
reappearence of the Jalan Besar GRC meant that some of the people
may get to vote for the first time since 1959.
Remember, LKY is no longer there to give support. His legacy
lives, but what will happen in GE2015?
