Renting a Car

mercur|al SG

Hey, need some info on renting cars in singapore. I'm 19 years old, current P plate driver. I'm looking to rent a car for maybe 1-2 days, as i can send my own car for servicing, and at the same time enjoy the experience of driving another car. (my car is auto, thus i hope to rent a manual car). However, i came across lots of car rental companies charging astronomical rates, and they are not willing to rent to P platers, or they set the age limit to be above 23 etc.

I'm wondering if you guys know any lobangs for car rentals, prefably much cheaper than those silly rates. Razz Would appreciate it too if someone would tell me where to find Subaru Imprezas/Mazda 3s for rental too.!
Thanks!

can ask your father, uncles or elder brothers to rent the car for you lah.....

the rental companies *scare* mah.... that's y the insurance for young driver also extremely high.....

How cheap you want? $50++/ $60++ is the minimum going rate for most places for a day of rental, not inclusive of petrol. What rates do you consider "silly"?

I thought nowdays u can actually request for a replacement car from the workshop?? Wink

Yep, i'm probably gonna get someone older to rent it for me. Only problem's that since my name aint gonna be on the list of drivers, i'm gonna have to hope not to get into anything ^_^.

I consider 50-60 kinda allright, but some of the websites i've visited charge like 130 etc for a 1.5litre car! That is silly!

Not sure bout asking for a replacement car from the workshop, but i'd rather rent one then drive their lao pok car Razz

whaa!!! i think i better go back to play initial d or wrc3 on my ps2 Laughing

mercur|al SG

lol is it? I just checked out www.orix.com.sg again. and its freaking expensive, nothing like the 50 dollars a day deal they advertised on the newspaper.

Hehe, nope, servicing's not gonna take 1-2 days, but renting a car would enable me to get around easier, plus i can drive a manual car(hopefully), and i haven't done that in a long time! Razz Anyway, ya most have age limits and they don't want to rent to P platers. So vexing heh.
