My uncle has this as a weekend car. While his weekday car is the Merc C180K. Luckily he stays in a condo, otherwise just the parking fees alone would be a ki...

I heard from a certain bean curd delivery guy that fast + light cars are particularly effective on winding downhill roads.

But yep, I guess a handling modification would be the rims + low profile UHP tyres. Additionally, coilovers?

Yeah...

I would take note of that..

I am going to try to bargain the price with the car dealer..

See if can get at 45k or not..

hahaa

True, a 3-series CC / C70 would do just nice to command respect during office hours and command jealous stares on orchard during the weekends!

Yeah, exactly. Then my uncle said: "Why didn't tell me earlier?"

lianamaster SG

But I was telling my uncle he's dumb. He could have combined the price of that two cars and went for a premium Coupe-Convertible. Like the BMW 3-series CC. And since his previous car is the Volvo S40, he can even get the C70 at a good price maybe.

Maybe 1 person own 2 cars feels more shiok?

At least you tell people, "I have 2 cars leh..."

But never drive downhill with the roof down, only with roof up. The scuttle shake might shatter your tofu, then you'll get scolded by daddy when you get home.

Then he go uphill with roof up. Finish delivering liao then go downhill with roof down. By the time reach the bottom hands numb from the scuttle shake already.

Heard from my uncle it's quite bad especially with roof down. Probably needs some additional bracing when p228 consider modding it.

Your parents have their own car?
What if you need to drive your parents or your colleagues around?

p228 SG

Err.. My father got taxi lar.. No need me to ferry around..

No need ferry colleagues around one lar..

I only ferry 1 lady colleague home.. cos she is like a twin sister to me.

Haha.. Just nice that 1 seat will fit her..

After that, then go fetch my girl..

alleggerita SG

Mostly coming from the A-pillar. Unavoidable when you chop off the roof from a car. It's some sort of a vibration and it might travel from the A-pillar to the steering. Roof up will reduce it, roof down will amplify it.

Only way to avoid all these is to build it like how Lamborghini and Mercedes built their Murcielago and SLR Roadster. Do it in carbonfibre.

Err.. So it there any way I can correct this problem?

Does adding strut bars help??

Not sure, I think it'll help to an extent definitely. Cross bracing at the front subframe might help even more, albeit at a high price.

But no worries la, in normal driving it won't show. Only when you are cornering enthusiastically.
