From this episode of events, IMHO Michael doesn't stand to lose
much, other than being answerable to his family.
But for Laura, I wouldn't say the govt throw her out to be the
sitting duck, but her own organisation did, and that was really a
low blow. So those involved in People's Association, might want to
think twice.
The lady would lose out more in this episode, as her reputation
would be like totally obliterated. Finding a job would be hard,
people would look at you a different way, the ripples are
unimaginable.
Will have to agree on the needlessness of the public humiliation
of the woman.
Sure, she's by no means sinless, but I really have to question
the need for her to be outed and humiliated so publicly. Unlike
Cecilia Sue, strictly speaking no laws were broken here.
It is possible that the powers-that-be were trying to pre-empt
the online CSI teams and prevent them from shooting wildly (EDMW
comes to mind).
Somehow, though, I get the feeling that 'if I go down, you
go down with me' plays a part as well.
