1) If Hong Kong which is in alot of ways similar to Singapore
can implement it to safeguard their poor why can't Singapore?
2) If a meaningful minimum wage is set, the economy which is
dependent on low wages (Cheaper, Better, Faster) will be affected.
Countries that have a 1st world wage structure have no problems
implementing minimum wages and in fact, they all have it to
raise the living standards of a small segment of the
population at the margin. (Cut and paste.....again)
Think out of the box abit lor..... must be 100% free market?
Cannot have a balance? Besides the minimum wage would only affect a
small segment of Singapore unless you're saying Singapore has alot
of poor people.....which means the system has failed more.

again u want to talk about HKees, you see beggars in HK or not,
you see their living conditon or not, in comparing, their health
adminstration and crime rates, did you notice most of those Sar,
bird flu come from that country and there are lots of gangsterism
due to poor education system and careless for the poor. Without the
financial hub, tourism and film industry that the british
created, HK is nothing.
What safeguard are you talking about when there is already a
guard, there will be poor in every country, except that some poor
are richer than the other poor, and singapore poor are without
doubt, richer and living much better than poors of most countries,
our poor still can go tour by air, electricity and water
supply, have a roof on top, jobs and surf internet. That is
luxury to poors of other countries. And becos these countries do
not bother or care about poor, the society tends to be more chaotic
and more dissatisfaction and high crime rates, now why in
singapore, for so long, have no protest, riot or strike??? aren't
we human too??
