eh. basic theory take 18 rite. can take 17 not. can instructor teach before u even pass basic theory. or can instructor teach u when u still 17. 18 = that year 18 or birthday onwards 18.. (i’m 17..)

u must pass your basic theory to be able start learning how to drive cause u need the pdl (the license required for ur driving lessons)

if i'm not wrong u can only book for your basic theory after your birthday.

For me I prefer a private instructor too. I just found a good instructor. My previous instructor very lousy and never teach me anything. Mr. Ong (my new instructor) has told every mistake that I've made and always remind what should I do.
Actually you can just ask your private instructor whenever you encounter any problem..like why always making wide turning....

Dun worry too much, after all driving is mean to been enjoyed.... If you are too tensed then you will make alot of mistakes..... You will never have 100% error free..... that's why they have the demerit points system as a guage..... If you think that going for more lessons help go for it..... dun worry it is better to spend more then to regret later..... Mr. Green

This is the starters woes. Everybody whom learn how to drive will face similar problems. The extent of it is base on the individual ability to coordinate Confused the hands the legs well.

I agree with going for more lessons. Practice makes perfect. Keep cool & most important don't panick. Its not easy & I know it very well myself. I am one of those super sotong ones that can even mix up between left & right turn.

Don't be scared turning the steering wheel. There are no hard & fast rules making a filter lane turn must full lock steering or not. Very dependent on personal judgement. Car can move slow but steering need to be efficient. No one can fault you driving slowly. You are just being careful.

Moreover you have the BIG L Mr. Green plate in front & behind. On the road who cares if you stall in front of the traffic light, its alright Embarassed . Just step on your brakes, place gear to neutral & start engine to move on again...

i've just booked a test-slot at 10.15am, bbdc one. traffic flow volume should be ok right??? did 19 lessons plus 1 auto-car lesson, enjoyed every sec of my time driving... but somehow thinking abt test, abit scared Neutral

personally i tink 4.30pm is the best time. no 1 learning in the circuit except those on TEST and outside rd not so jammed.

ya but i took into account that the upcoming slot for the learners commences at 4.40pm. but come to think of it, for my 10.15am test time, i also have just 10 mins before the learners come on at 10.25am. haha but well, i prefer morning...

Take in the morning it will be better..... ur timing just nice..... By 4 plus the tester had already pass too many people before you and if u commit mistake he will just tick and tick..... He will be tired also... if you cannot control the clutch well.... then he will be so pissed that he will skin you alive.....

lol. i had mine at 8.25am at the CDC. i took route 4. the test just ask me go out, do half of the designated route, and ask me go back to school liao. no filter lanes, no u-turn, no testing of ebrakes. den go back school liao sit in front of him at this desk. then he take out his son's donation card.

"Wah your results good ah... minus 6 points only... want to help my son donate anot? The more the better la."

*Hands 10 bucks to the tester*.

YR instructor is much better then during mi time ..
inside the circuit T junction.. i turn wrongly guess wat he did.. he told me wat d F** U drive, then he got out N slam d door.. u should noe how i felt as a student... .
The best is use r own method.. here all of them giv U their ways of driving N u will definetly get confuse....

i give u mi simple method.. as U approach filter lane slow down don signal first. look on yr rear mirror then as u see the 2nd turning arrow fr the filter lane, signal turning..
now 4 turning.. as U turn follow the riight kerb dist. fr yr left head light..thats y u have 2 go slow...as u turn look 4 oncming car & slow down...if no car pick up spd & go..

when u r free at home practice sit on a chair when some stick as gear and some round objs as wheel..tis will help u 2 get familiar.. with d method..practice make perfect but when it come to real scenario u will tend to forgot..
mi time on road i stall vehicle mani times causing jam..

ya when U turn yr head make sure U rearlly turn yr head 90'C and not just yr eyes.. 4 d instuctor 2 see.

hahaha... i learnt almost exclusively at night, so i can drive at nite after clubbing or late nite la kopi sessons, but day time jialat liao.
