Poh Ah Pak SG

I'm talking about mainstream media chin eng.

Mainstream media.

As in TV, Print and Radio.

The power of propaganda lies in mainstream media.

skythewood SG

the fact that most people here have their own views is clearly because the "propaganda" is not that influential. well, most of us have our own views, some just give thumbs up to views they like. if there is so much "propaganda"

why is there no hordes of brainwashed PAP minions defending their beloved political party? there is only anti-PAP extremist, moderate anti-PAP, neutral, or mederate pro-PAP.

and of course, there are people with no views that just hang around.

Recently, there is an increase in the number of programmes on giving birth, marriage and FTs. Just watch the mediacorpse channels you will see these.

Don't see anything wrong with that.

They are under control of PAP regime, so their job is to spread state propaganda and promote state policies.

They are controlled by PAP regime, you can't expect them to go and criticise PAP regime on why must increase population to 6.5 million. That is clearly not possible for them.

It doesn't bother me because I keep a clear distance away from mainstream media.

Poh Ah Pak SG

That is not the issue.

Issue is PAP regime monopolising mainstream media to spread state propaganda.

I never expect them to work against PAP. So ?????? Yes it does not bother you but not everyone is smart to know that that is propaganda. What are you trying to insinuate?

skythewood SG

FT is a issue people have to deal with. marriage and birth is stuff that will happen. maybe write in to TCS ask them to make programmes on divorce and abortion instead.

what ever people are concerned about becomes a programmes, except for religion and politics.

Poh Ah Pak SG

That is why I support reform of media industry to include both state propaganda and private propaganda.

Now all state propaganda.

All mainstream media is state propaganda.

Look (read below) what you just posted. You are contradicting yourself. ARe you senile like LKY? Are you practising double standard like the PAP?

seriously, mainstream media eg TV print and radio do not actively praise PAP. Yes, the news are a little bias.... but you do not get propaganda messages in between TV commercials.

by all thoughts and intents... mainstream media do no propagate government policies.... news propagate government policies....

it's the NEWS that is where propaganda is.... not mainstream media per se.

it's not like they have PAP hour each night, or suddenly everyday at lunch time you hear Hsien Loong's voice over the PA system.
