By referencing the site for Free Hawaii, I was merely pointing out that such movements exist, contrary to the claim made by two of the forumers here that they do not.

The fact that such websites are hosted in the US and that no Free Tibetan websites are hosted in China does not in any way detract from the legitimacy of the claim I made, which merely is that such movements exist. And nothing else. The fact that you are attacking the lack of freedom in China is a Straw Man argument as you are ignoring my actual position on this issue.

You may attack the lack of voting freedom in China if you want.

My only position is that the Free Hawaii movement does exist.

After the dissidents are killed, then they give them the freedom to vote for their future. What a joke? The government of coz will allow that to happen knowing that the unhappy majority has become the minority.
When the British is ruling singapore, did they hold an election for the people to decide for their future? No, only after their influence reduce after being whacked by the Japanese, then they no choice but to start giving democracy.

I am fine if thru voting, the people can release their anger and feel better as long as they don't turn to violence after seeing their dream doesn't come true.

Ironically, the country that claim to be a democracy guru doesn't respect the international democracy at all. US has used his veto power many times to reject the UN resolution.
Just to list a few, when the UN is voting to whether lift the sanction on Iraq, most countries vote to lift sanction after seeing so many childrens in Iraq died because of insufficient food and medicine, US veto it. There are times when most countries in the security council is drafting a formal condemnation to Israel on its attack to the civillians, US veto it.
Got this time when the world has decided that a nuclear country must not use nuclear weapon on a non-nuclear country, US again veto it. In 1980, US veto a resolution that is to aid the people suppressed by the south african apertite policy. Where is their concept of demoracy?

and to those people who likes to scream about media bias .... remember again ... many of those examples you've pointed out, free quebec, free puerto rico .. were not banned outright in their countries of origin .. but are allowed to contest freely in elections in their respective countries ... their leaders are not forced into exile, their websites are not blocked in their respective countries, they hold conventions and rallies and canvass for political support right there in their "home countries", and their supporters are not met with bullets .... look at some of the links the fellows have given. ... the mainstream western media themselves, which some of the fellows here have so openly derided, have covered their side of the stories ... I wonder if this irony was noted by these chaps .... to talk about western media bias on one hand, and to quote them on the next ? ... perhaps there's yet again, more confusion on their parts ? ....

again I ask ... nevermind the guns and bullets now ... do you see similar privileges being accorded to the tibetans ? ... but of course, again .. when even citizens of China itself doesn't really get to enjoy that privilege, it is, perhaps, too much to ask for the natives of an occupied land huh ....

There are still some people who say 'Chinese Opression' or 'Sending/ flooding Han Chinese into Tibet'.

What is this so-called Chinese opression...?

Do u know in China, ethnic minorities actually enjoy some positive priviledges compared to majority Han Chinese..?

For instance 1 child policy is not applied to them.

Welfare payment, and assistance is easier for them.

My sister just 1 year ago or so, visited Tibet together with her husband, my brother in law.

Tibet is a normal place, a tourist place. Local Tibetans are living there as usual, working, going to school, and interacting with tourists. Everything is normal. Just very common.

Not only are they treated with special priviledge, Chinese government has poured alot of money to build Tibet and improve its economy and well-being of the people.

One particular special example is the train, the highest train that cost alot of money to build, to improve the infrastucture because Tibet is an isolated interior, a poor place. Hopefully it can bring positive impact for Tibet.

If you look at this....how can you say....this is called 'Chinese Opression' ?

I wonder why some people are so Anti-China. Please before you say 'Free Tibet', first and foremost free your own mind first from prejudice and negativity.

And another thing...I cant believe some people actually say 'China send Han Chinese to swamp Tibet' etc.

Why cant people from Shanghai go to Tibet to open a restaurant..? China is one country, everyone can go to everywhere.

Those are common people, people who try to make a living, opening up restaurants, shops, hotels, and so on. After all, Tibet is a tourist place.

What is so unnatural about this..?

Do you think they are told by the government to open up businesses and move there..?

In Hawaii, white people go to there to settle and to open hotels and other businesses. In Bali, non-Balinese go there in large numbers to do business there too.

I cant believe the extreme prejudice against China. Before u indulge in such thoughts, at least stop urself and ask urself, why are you so anti-China. What is there in your mind..? It cant be right. China is just a country, a society, a people. It is not any worse or any more evil than the other nations in the world. Everyone is the same. I hope u can understand this.
