My house area, executive flat is selling for 390k. Directly opposite Hougang Green, minutes walk to Wet market and 3 coffee shops, shop n save, watson's, 7-11, guardian etc. 5 mins bus ride to Hougang Mall, Hougang Pt, Compass Point. 10 mins walk to Buangkok MRT and Hougang MRT.

8 years ago it was around 550+k.

Well, if you talk about HDB, hard to increase.

Talk about private property. Half a year ago, a small terrace costs 1.4~1.6mil. Now, it costs around 1.7~2 mil

Eg Semi D at Lorong 1 Realty Park. The seller told me his valuation in Nov is 2.08mil. His new valuation in mid Dec is 2.13 mil.

I know because my gf's house was on en bloc sale, and we went around looking at many properties.

i'm really thinking...how could our govt not build more apartments to decrease housing prices?? pegging new flats to resale prices is like pegging the price of new pets to resale pet price...the two are diametrically different!!!

It's not like you're being FORCED to buy the semi condos. HDB is STILL building the cheaper flats. You don't HAVE to buy the expensive ones.

Next we'll all be complaining we can't all travel first class on SIA. Ridiculous.

Very soon, all prop. prices will start to come down, can buy cheap cheap!

For $750K go buy 99 yrs. landed or exec. apt, - more space, exclusive or pay a bit more go for freehold, better appreciation

Very solid. Sg has porgressed to this state. More expensive more shiok and better in the sense that you now get the golden opportunity to say proudly to foreigners, see how rich sg 'reans are. for a small sq feet of alevated land, you are paying what others may not even earn a lifetime.

i believe that someone got red-eye that some old 5-rm resold at $700K ++ driven by enbloc in the private residential sector and that someone wanted to get a piece of the money. In boon keng's case, notice that the bulk of the units are 5-room flats. it is greed versus stupidity.

maybe the philosophy is that if there is money to be made locally, the bulk of it should be made by the state?

to those who are contemplating a purchase of the 5-rm hdb flat at 750K. bear in mind that the record 5-rm hdb resale price was set by buyers who got their money from enblocs ie they are cash rich. if you queue for the boon keng ones at $750K, ask yourself whether you are doing something clever.

Read in the papers that more than 1000 S'porean was there to get a unit. But due to the demand..... it will be up to their luck to even get a place.....

Well TS, U, me and most other 'normal' S'poreans wouldn't be able to afford one..... but that doesn't means that 'ALL' S'poreans couldn't afford it. Get yourself a 'Normal' HDB at some Ulu area if you want it cheap...... understance that S'pore have more ppl than land..... cost of housing will always be expensive. Surprised
