The wife of PM Lee made an 800million dollar blunder and the
case was whitewashed as an expensive tuition fee in parliament.
got meh??!?!! care to share? i don't remember reading about this
in the straits times, but then, the regime likes to keep such wrong
things under wraps and "hush-hush".
when they implement policies, they'll praise themselves and the
newspapers follows like hounds.
Most recently, our world class RSAF 'accidentally' dyed our
local farm vegetables red (same colour as the face of our local
farmers). The defence ministry held a press conference and declared
that compensation would be negotiated to cover the farmers'
losses....another sizable chunk of taxpayer's monies wasted for
mistakes made.
the problem with all these crap is that the regime can continue
to pound us like salmon and yet the people still be so submissive,
so they pound harder and suck deeper.
expect more crap next year, more price hikes, transport fare
increase from PTC, and best of all, gahmen salary increases.
if it's other countries and they get this "red dye" **** on their
farms, you can expect violent reaction from the farmers and all
those affected.
in SG? wow, so well-behaved.

If your only complaint here is that Mrs GCT thought a few
million was peanuts, then there really is nothing to say here. For
eg, I feel 10 bucks is pretty peanut-sy. The poor and needy
referenced in this thread may not agree
at least Mrs. GCT should be sensitive.
that single statement she made really flared up all my anger and
all i could think of was the butcher's knife and a huge black
plastic bag at that time.
for her to make that kind of remark shows the true sentiments of
all in the gahmen, just that they never said it.
face it: millions of dollars is not peanuts, even though she may be
living in a villa with a olympic-sized swimming pool, an army of
maids, a showroom of cars to choose from blah blah blah....

After skills upgrading, the workers will still be unsure whether
the extra time, effort and money spent will definitely result in a
job.
it's just the regime's excuse to divert the issue of FT.
more FT and expats here now and the regime knows the locals are
unhappy, so they come up with "if you want to keep your jobs in
this globalised world of expats and FTs, upgrade your
skills".
but the sad truth is that upgrading your skills don't give you much
chance either and doesn't justify the cost involved. think about
it.
the sentence "No singaporean will go hungry" is a statement made by
clowns who are OUT OF TOUCH with REALITY.
these guys love to use buzzwords like "getting to know the ground
better", "work the ground" or "heavily involved in ground work" but
it's all lies.
fu**ing lies.
