It is TODAY, not ONE DAY, the people from the Headoffices around
the world, much less qualified and less experienced than many of
us, are here taking over our jobs. Realise how many expatriates are
in Singapore? understand why the rentals are rising in Singapore?

It is TODAY, not ONE DAY, the american schools, the australian
schools, the united world college, the Canadian Schools, the French
School, the German School, the Japanese Schools in Singapore are
expanding. There are even 3 Indian schools running on India
curriculum catering for over 4000 indian students. The parents of
these students are here temporary. At least the PRC in Sinapore,
try to merge with our students by studying in the local schools.
There is no Chinese International School.
I am not selling coffee, so I don't care who are here to serve in
coffee shops. In fact, I am glad those who are prepared to accept
for lower pay to serve so that I dont have to pay more for a cup of
coffee.
I speak and write english and chinese, so I am not worried about
chinese who can't speak english taking over my job. I have local
singapore, working together with PRC, philippino and indian. Local
salaries higher because they perform better and they speak mandarin
and english. Are they worried? no because they know where they are
good, and when the PRC, the indian, the philippino got their PR,
they need higher salaries to live the singaporean lifestyle, they
cannot continue to sell cheap any longer.
But woe to those who speak english only. It only takes 8 months to
1 year for a PRC to learn english, by then they would speak both
english and chinese. And you will find that your english cannot be
better than the oz, the american, the brits, the canadian, and the
indians.
If
you don't have higher skill or better experience, then they will
take over your job, with a higher salary!! That would be a
humiliation for you where nobody will sympathize.
So learn from the experience of the PRC at the coffee shop NOW, to
do a better job, you need to learn many languages, for bangladeshi
contractors nearby also come to coffee shops to da bao
, do you think they speak english?? and that is
besides the skill you need to hold 4 cups of coffee on one hand and
two cans of soft drinks plus two cups of ice on the other hand, and
you need to remember who order kopi si, teh xiudai, teh xi kosong,
fishing, tatkiu.....can you handle that? if not then let the PRC
guy do the job.
The next time when you buy coffee, remember that the PRC guy got
many skills that you don't have, except for the money you took from
your parents to buy coffee.

Before you think, see who are around, hear what are being spoken,
then think.
