It's like buying cars:
You buy a hyundai for 70k ( I am using Singapore's system , not
Australia's) - you don't expect it to last more than 10 years since
you have to scrap it . It is a depreciating asset loss
You buy a collectable limited edition lambourghini for one million
dollars - you incur EXPENSIVE maintenance costs. HOWEVER IT BETTER
DAMN WELL BE WORTH IT , RUN FOR MORE THAN 10 YEARS ,AND INCREASE
DRASTICALLY IN VALUE WHEN IT HITS THE VINTAGE OR COLLECTABLE
MARKET. THAT WAY WHEN YOU MAKE A PROFIT. It becomes a precious
heirloom that only a few will have.
Likewise the same can be said for ministers. Right now , you just
need to see whether the ministers are making a gain for
SINGAPOREANS like a limited edition lambourghini for its owner , OR
a loss like a hyundai that is due for scrapping in 10 years. If it
is a hyundai, scrap it and buy a new hyundai that runs well for a
few years or a new brand.
