There you go again......smoking. The thing is that most of the world recongises the Chinese government which adminsters 90% of the total population and area of China. How can certain pro-independence Taiwanese not feel threatened and would not fight for their sovereignty.

From Singapore, we talked all the way to Australia before coming to Taiwan. Point is, you should respect Singapore's sovereginty, instead of making remarks like chasing the current governemt out of parliement and merging with Australia.

Once again, if you are unhappy and cannot tahan the current situation of democracy here in Singapore, emigrate. Get your Aussie PR or citizenship and downgrade your Singapore pink IC to a blue IC.

I know you are down-under, but certainly not 6 feet down under. In case you don't know what is going on, let me remind you that Mainland China views Taiwan as a separatist/breakaway province awaiting unification. Due to a one-China policy advocated by Mainland China, Taiwan is not part of the UN or the WHO, and isn't recognised by many countries as a country, except for 20 odd number of countries.

However, the DPP of Taiwan or the Pan Green Coalition are striving to push for formal independence for Taiwan.

At best your sentence expresses what you think. And if you let any Mainland Chinese see what you had written, good luck to you.

My dream is to see China broken up like the former USSR. The member states of the old USSR are much better off these days. Some of them are even in the EU. Surprised

China was divided into many small states at one time or another. These states fought many wars among themselves and people suffered.

Many foreign countries tried to invade China. Through nationalism or patriotism somehow China held its own till today and Chinese were less bullied due partly to this fact. So do we need a strong and peaceful China or one which is divided making easy meats for the imperialist west and overly ambitious Japan.

Democracy and democratic instutionalized processes will be the solutions. Processes well established and institutionalised will ensure accountability fairness and flexibility and will help to stabilize China one day or else there will be more 4ths of June and it will one day be broken up like the former Russia.

In any countries which claim to be governed with leadership or Asian values or some pseudo-democracy, in names leadership or talents may sound rather good but actually such power-centred systems unable to decentralise to be governed with due accountable processes for the greatest benefits of all will only end up benefiting a few rich and the elites and taking shortcuts of all kind to keep themselves in power.

Leadership and talent or meritocracy system of ours currently seem fine because it is underpinned by taxing and profiteering and using monies of people to look good. Essentially it lacks definition, accountability and the government will have to use sneaky power game to get rid of oppositions or alternative to put up a superficial success story.

Finally there would be many 4ths of June and the countries will need to be broken up.
