Now that we have hind-sight of history, can we trust another 'Brutus', who will declare unsolicited declaration of love and admiration - as Brutus has publicly declared towards Caesar ?

Today, in Singapore there are more then enough 'Brutus' that fill the ranks of the MIW - that will surely make Marcus Junius Brutus turn in his grave as his act was at least of a higher principle - compared to the present day Brutus that will sell their political conscience and suppress Singaporeans Political Rights for the sake of material gains.

What else does a pre-puberty ah_lao know besides the materialistic gains that Singapore is supposed to enjoy, when all that has been achieved has been paid for by your parents and grand-parents ?

What do you know about life in Singapore that is supposed to be materially rich, when Singaporeans have to struggle continuously till 75 years - simply to be able to retire with some hope of decency ?

All that you know seem to center around modern day conveniences, and familiarity of clinically clean environment, how do you think that more then three generations - {including LKY's generation, their fathers and grand-fathers} - have managed to live through those early periods of Singapore, with so much dignity and wealth ?

Even LKY himself lived through the 1950s and is none the worse today.

Can the same be said of Singaporeans today, living in a soft environment that has been purposefully created, in which all that are needed for Singaporeans to live is locked into a service system that is controlled by the MIW Government ?

Despite our material gains, even the MIW Government has acknowledged that there exist a segment of Singaporeans locked in poverty - {there remains a stubborn refusal to be exact and transparent of the actual numbers in the different income groups that are struggling}.

You will sound more credible as a pre-puberty Singaporean instead of going by the chosen ah_lao.

Dear Atobe, this is another passage from your classic post. It should be framed on everybody's wall. Of course, there are various kinds of riots, such as the race riots 38 years ago of 1969, soccer riots and riots from secret societies and gangsters. But isn't it obvious that the government only trains the police to use unreasonable force against people who stand up for their country, which means to say peaceful deomnstrations? Isn't it obvious? It is conclusive proof that the government is cruel and heartless.

Also, not to mention the military. Isn't it obvious that the military is useless and just a complete scam to waste the country's money and sell military goods to other countries? I mean, when was the last time we had a war in our region? For goodness sake, it was 62 years ago in 1945. If it haven't happened for decades, it will never happen. Do you really think that Malaysia, Indonesia or any of our neighbours will bully, attack or conquer us? Please, has it happened before and if it has, when was the last time?

There are no doubts the government should just scrap the military and the riot police and stop wasting taxpayers' money. I think Atobe, you and I should start a political party. Surely, with our policies, more than 50% of the people will vote for us.

Maturity is a state of mind... either in the observer, or the one being observed.

Assumptions and admirations are but fleeting impressions of an event at some point in time, and these will change.
