I look at this event on its own merit and do not (like others) make
linkages or connections to CSJ's past actions or speeches. Put it
this way: whatever may be the underlying motives (which many here
have made), the action of standing in the rain with placards
stating clearly what the demo was about should be taken at face
value. To me: it is the stand. I
am not concerned about the flaws in his character or otherwise. Too
many here are ready to condemn and point fingers as though they are
saints or angels. Does it mean a
criminal, a bankrupt, a prisoner, a stupid person, a do-no-good has
no conscience or feelings for the repressed people of
Burma?
Please take a look at yourself and show us your concern before you
make so much innuedoes and comments that smack of 'smart
aleckness".
A down-and-out person can feel for the Burmese, and if he want
to show it, well good. Then just show it. Period. But if that
person tries to procure a job using the crisis as a platform, then
what do you think of that person?
